                                 TRADING UPDATE 
 
                         CHAPELTHORPE PLC ("the Group") 
 
 
Chapelthorpe plc, a leading manufacturer of polypropylene fibre which is 
supplied to markets world-wide, provides an update on trading for the six months 
to 31 March 2010 prior to the release of its preliminary results in June. 
 
At the time of our half year results on 24 November 2009 we noted that the Group 
was making good progress in improving operating returns and this has continued 
in the second half of the year. 
 
In the US, our business has continued to benefit from strong demand in the 
filament yarn sector and gains in market share.  In Europe, our business has 
continued to benefit from efficiency improvements and sales mix.  Overall, 
volumes will be similar to last year but the combination of these factors has 
helped generate improved margins.  As a consequence, operating profits for the 
full year are expected to be well ahead of last year.
