Some interesting moves over the last few days and the Stock has held up well through the recent market turmoil. Interesting that a few shares are being picked up by institutions (anyone heard of them?). I think this may edge the price up a bit but, I will hang on for a great deal more over the coming months. Great broker note.

It was Investors Chronicle that has Community as a buy, the key points were "EPS should move up from 2.74 seen last year to roughly DOUBLE this figure by end of 2005". " they also commented on "The acquisition template has been well tested, SEVEN companies of varying sizes have been bought" "Management has proved itself to be hard nosed at picking up targets and negotiating terms"
On another thought with all the unrest insurance has to be top priority

A lot of trades went through last wek and we added a few more in the club and I added myself. Had a great weekend so much for forecasting rain, just hope my little Community Broker starts fly soon

Well mr long and short, i am not selling and if what you say is correct therte must be loads of big buyers over the last few weeks as unlike nearly all of other stocks this has not reduced in price so it stands a test, and therefor the signs are there that there is value in this beauty.

Bagged a few more of these a couple of days ago. Seems reasonably stable. I was initially put off, by the aquisition as I thought it was very expensive (until someone explained how this industry operatates!Doh!) so now time to sit back and wait as the broker note was very positive. I will probably progressivly add. Anyone else adding?

Hey bigman I got the accounts, nice and tidy good debut results and cash I also got a research note from their broker insinger townsley very interesting they go into detail about the valuation and dcf, discount cash flow and conclude from that and other research on the company that "on those conservative assumptions, the net present value for the shares works out at arround 75p per share, roughly 90% above current share price"

The following article is from "The Business" by Andrew Griffiths- Aim Investor

It is an uncomfortable fact of life for the insurance industry that global terrorism has provided a significant boost to business, providing underwriters with justification for higher premiums in an increasingly security conscious world.

Aim investors who want to jump aboard the insurance bandwagon might consider shares in recently listed Community Broking Group, which specialises in providing services to small businesses As well as the normal insurances offered against material damage, business interruption and so on, CBG also provides life and other personal insurance products to company directors, senior executives and business owners. The company aims to be a one-stop-shop for senior managers of small businesses.

Independent brokers are the largest distribution channel for personal and commercial insurance in the UK with 35%. CBG estimates that the annual small business commercial insurance market is worth around £400m.

The group's growth attractions lie in its plans to acquire a number of established businesses in the near future. It is hoping to exploit the fact that many sole practitioners who formed independent businesses in the 1970s and 1980s are now coming up to retirement age and will be seeking an exit These brokers are also under pressure to broaden the range of products they offer to remain competitive, and face the new challenges of becoming regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in 2005,with all the paperwork and worry that this brings.

Last year, CBG doubled pretax profits to £306,000 on a turnover only 25% ahead at £1.5m. Since then, it has acquired Cloughley Insurance Services, adding another £360,000 of sales. Even after the acquisition, CBG has just short of Elm in cash for future acquisitions.

With an experienced management team, die company seems like a good vehicle to lead consolidation within its fragmented industry and the shares should respond to the developing story.

The price being asked for this does not seem excessive. There are no forecasts in the market but the rating of 14 times historic earnings should improve significantly as CBG continues to acquire profitable broking businesses. Overall, the shares could be a lucrative long-term play.

This company is quietly going about its business since flotation last year the plans seem to be consolidation in the insurance broking market and from what I have read it is very active. came out with results recently and they show stunning growth, profit and cash. Whilst only small they are expanding at a rate and one report I read said "get the shares if you can but they could be chased up as they are tightly held" Seems to me that is the type of stock to be in rather than one that gets shorted down. I picked up a few over the last two weeks. Any views or opinions on this would be appreciated.
