FURTHER EXTENSION OF OPTION AGREEMENT

                      Further extension of option agreement 
 
The Company announced on 15 January 2010 that it had agreed to extend the period 
for the exercise of the option agreement in relation to the potential 
acquisition of all of the shares in Tobon Tondo suarl ("Tobon") to 28 February 
2010, allowing the Company to finalise its due diligence process.  Tobon holds 
highly prospective gold exploration interests in Mali. 
 
Further to that announcement, the directors of Carlton today announce that it 
has agreed to further extend the option to 31 March 2010.  The directors expect 
that a definitive decision in relation to the acquisition of all of the shares 
in Tobon will be made prior to the expiry of this further period.
