SEC Declares CNX Gas Corporation's Resale Registration Statement Effective; Shares Will Begin Trading on the NYSE under the Symb

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 18  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CNX Gas Corporation (NYSE:CXG) announced today that its registration statement on Form S-1, providing for the resale by the selling stockholders named therein of the CNX Gas common stock sold by the Company in a private placement in August 2005, has been declared effective by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The registration statement covers 27,936,667 shares of CNX Gas common stock.

The shares of CNX Gas common stock covered by the registration statement have been approved for listing on the New York Stock Exchange, under the symbol "CXG." CNX Gas shares are scheduled to begin trading on the NYSE at 9:30 a.m., tomorrow, January 19, 2006.
