intangibles are probably the goodwill which has been bought onto the balance sheet as companies have been bought out
guess they think it has value and imho it gives a false asset figure though i would be happy to sell out at that figure ;-))

Things should heat up here with the 2 x 40k buys! Have a copy of the IC and it could be a missprint but I am reading NAV 573p ! Knew they were undervalued but ??????I had thought maybe £2 in a year was possible?
Learning all the time ,if I am reading this wrong please correct me ,it is not my intention to ramp

not a widly known stock imho
think exceptional credits of some £700k this year so some should be careful in their forecasts for current year but with a positive start toit results should be ok
a clean quarter would be nice
still reckon 140/150p would be nice short term tgt

Regarding the tax. Carlisle Group are registered in Belize which is a low tax jurisdiction. As far as I understand it they are classed as an "International Business Company" (IBC) whose earnings are in "foreign subsidiaries" ie in the UK and US, and the earnings are "continually reinvested by the Group". No tax is expected to be payable in the foreseeable future, so no need to make a notional tax deduction. There is a note about this in the 2006 accounts.

As NTV says IC write up as a buy, and it does look interesting, but I to did notice that the current pe is 5, but must be using up tax losses at present. Tax situation is a little unclear - has 0.1k been paid this time around?
Ist quarter results give eps of 6.1p. Times 4 would = 24.4p eps could then be 4.7, if one takes 28% tax off then eps could then be 6.5, but then why was not paid last year? Looks cheap but share price has come down from 200p.

Hi NTV Thanks for that I have just found the headline,do you have a copy ?

Did you see notice the trades today, uncanny timing ,all more or less in a half hour.I had not seen your post and wondered if some had knowledge of week-end press? Noticed on the day of the RNS 12k buys and today 9k buys.

Still cant believe we are the only 2 here!
Yes and see the growth rate and eps 21p per share, surely meat on the bones !

in your assesment of the results don't forget to strip them of exceptional gains and nil tax rate

cant help thinking that because the last announcement came on a Friday before a bank holiday that it went largely unnoticed thus making it a good candidate for shares mag or growth investor.

INTERESTING RECOVERY MAKE THESE SHARES LOOK A TADGE ON THE CHEAPSIDE BUT THEY SEEM TO HAVE LEFT A HUGE AMOUNT OF GOODWILL ON THE BALANCE SHEET
STILL I HAVE BOUGHT A FEW RECENTLY AS I THINK THE PRICE MIGHT HEAD NORTHWARDS
