Exercise of options, issue of new ordinary shares and Directors' holdings

Exercise of options

Capital Pub Company announces that pursuant to the Company's share option plans ("the Plans") options have been exercised over, in aggregate, 1,771,741 ordinary shares of 50p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares").

The exercise of these options which were effective on 5 September 2011 has been satisfied through the issue of 1,771,741 new Ordinary Shares.

These shares have been issued in accordance with the terms of the Plans and the Company's existing allotment authorities and with the consent of Greene King plc.

Of the 1,771,741 new Ordinary Shares allotted, the Directors of the Company exercised options as follows:

Issue of new Ordinary Shares

Application has been made for the 1,771,741 new Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM and dealings in the new Ordinary Shares are expected to become effective on 9 September 2011 ("Admission"). The new Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the Company's existing Ordinary Shares.

Following Admission, the total issued share capital of the Company will be 30,741,916 Ordinary Shares, all of which have voting rights.

The above figure 30,741,916 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the share capital of the Company.
