20/5/2012 14:39 | I'm not clear about the situation where Orbis retain their shares and those that agree sell to vodafone. What happens to those that do not agree, assuming that they can do this? I would assume that there is a market in cable and wireless, just the same, but with vodafone holding quite a lot of them. Is that correct? And where's Roger when you need him? ;-) | djwr100
20/5/2012 13:00 | I get an Action Notice after any official document comes out which gives me the choice of Yes - No or how many shares do I wish to take action on. The Default is always No. | loganair
20/5/2012 10:15 | do Orbis own shares, or are they loaned from you and I from our nominee accounts for a small fee.(not paid to us) | careful
19/5/2012 23:31 | plastow, I'm sure HL would follow your instructions on any vote. | 7kiwi
19/5/2012 22:40 | vod will not let this go ill just take my 38p NOTE,,, Individual shareholders were "effectively disenfranchised", because their stakes are held in nominee accounts. ... | plastow
19/5/2012 16:37 | im with hargreaves landsdown | plastow
19/5/2012 11:20 | That's interesting. But why no say? I have mine in Crest, via a broker. I wonder what my situation is, now? I'll have to check. | djwr100
19/5/2012 11:13 | i have no say as i hold mine in a nominee account .. | plastow
19/5/2012 10:37 | If vodafone buy what's available now, and keep Orbis as a minority shareholder, with a view to buying them out later at a higher price, would small investors be treated the same way, [ie get more cash later] or could they be forced to sell at 38p now? | djwr100
19/5/2012 09:42 | The last sentence shows that Vodafone are getting CWW on the cheap. "It has also said the deal will be earnings accretive, pre-integration costs, "pretty much immediately". And I'm will to hold out should this be the final outcome: ""Vodafone will park CWW for a year or maybe two, so it doesn't need to own 100 percent. They could keep it at arm's length, and if they then bid 45 pence or 50 pence for the minority, Vodafone's total cost is only 40 pence (a share)." | loganair
18/5/2012 11:58 | Bubbling away today. Has the house broker gone for an early lunch! | targatarga
18/5/2012 11:49 | Roger, see you on Monday. | thehairydagger
18/5/2012 09:09 | Well i'm happy i never sold and bought LLOY or RBS, big losses there. | thehairydagger
17/5/2012 16:56 | I have a very large holding in this and took the view to sell about 1/5 today at 34p there are too many bargins out there which have better long term potential and pay a dividend such as BP, Aviva, Resolution even some of the Banks are starting to look atractive. The longer this drags on more people will jump ship into relativly safer water. | ch1ck
17/5/2012 16:51 | djwr you make me nervous by quoting my own posting back to me. that was a long time ago (may 4), the index was 5770 after a fall, and no doubt we all thought it would bounce back. since then the market has fallen over 400 pts,(now 5350), and we are all getting a bit scared. even Vod will be reassessing this deal in light of their international exposure. Vod are unlikely to pay more, although a few short weeks ago that may not have been the case. if the markets crash further, everyone will accept 38p. | careful
17/5/2012 16:04 | So, are you fearful, careful? Do you regret buying.... careful 4 May'12 - 10:43 - 5042 of 5181 well after all of this talk i did it. i have just bght at 32.5p. i have convinced myself that it is worth more...and that whatever happens next it is unlikely to fall back much. more potential upside. a % play. | djwr100
17/5/2012 14:56 | vod must be close to taking CW. out by now. the dire state of the market and world economc fears makes their task easier. I wonder how many acceptances they have now. we shall find this out next week. I am hanging on, but if I was free to take 38p i would grab it. better bargains elsewhere. I would be fearful of the share price if vod walked away. | careful
17/5/2012 07:52 | I may be because the shares are in his wifes name he has to do this via Rule 2.1 where as his own shares he can sign over with out the public decloration. Very strange that there has been no defence of the company and no up dates. This shows total disregard for share holders. | ch1ck
16/5/2012 21:33 | 6500 shares is insignificant. Why would he do this, what does he have to gain? | djwr100
16/5/2012 18:41 | Missed by many this was in among the announcements today. It's not the size but the significance of the arrangement. Does this mean all directors have given verbal assurances that all their shares will be used to support Vodafone. This looks as if the board have handed the company on a plate to Vodaphone and the deal is not going to fail. In accordance with Rule 2.11 of The City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, Cable & Wireless Worldwide plc announces that David Lowden, a director, has entered into an irrevocable undertaking in favour of Vodafone Europe B.V. in relation to 6,500 shares in which he is interested by virtue of these shares being held by his wife, Michele Lowden. The irrevocable undertaking requires him to procure that Mrs. Lowden cast all votes in relation to these shares at the court meeting and the general meeting in favour of the Scheme of Arrangement proposed in relation to Vodafone's recommended offer for Cable & Wireless Worldwide plc. A copy of this announcement will be available at www.cw.com/investors | ch1ck
