Of course L&G increasing its stake doesn't necessarily mean that a take-over is coming. Could just be that L&G sees BRT as a good investment.

Yep I logged on to ask whether anyone thought the increase in L&G's holding could be an indication of a take-over. I closed a June spreadbet last week at 491p. Luckily this lunchtime I checked and saw the RNS and bought back in at 478p. I think the drop at the end of last week was probably due to that other investment fund selling down its stake below 3%.

BRT have been touted as a a suitor for Old Mutual (looking for a UK presence).

Would have thought FP. were more up L& G's street

Ah - they bought Allianz Cornhill who have 1/2 million policies....Interesting that BRT are serious with their strategy of buying closed life funds bearing in mind they look ripe for a bid themselves...may be from Old Mutual/Resolution Life or that entrepeneur who bought Pearl.....

i'M IN THESE FOR THE LONG HAUL FROM 278P.

Cant see any reason to sell these whatsoever. When these hit £6+ next year then maybe it should be considered. They remain my biggest holding and I will continue to add once they go thru 430p. The charts and momentum are with us.

Motoring away nicely. It looks my prediction (450p, see post #190)is going to come true. I'm holding tight.

quickmind,

No I didnt get in again at 370. Being pragmatic and still thinking this has way to go I bought back in again at 402 and again at 408.75.

We dont want a bid yet.
