                    Birse Group plc ("Birse" or the "Group")

                                  Board change

The Board of Birse today announces that David Goose, a director of Birse and
currently the Managing Director of BPH Equipment Limited ("BPH"), is leaving the
Group with immediate effect to pursue other private interests. Graham Booth, who
has been Operations Director of BPH since 1989, will succeed David as Managing
Director of that business.
