    Bladex Announces Quarterly Dividend Payment for Third Quarter 2006 
 
    PANAMA CITY, Sept. 21 -- Banco Latinoamericano de Exportaciones, S.A. (NYSE: 
BLX) (Bladex), announced today that the $0.1875 per share quarterly cash 
dividend corresponding to the third quarter of 2006 and approved by the Board of 
Directors on January 31, 2006, is payable on  October 16, 2006, to stockholders 
of record as of October 6, 2006.   
    As of August 31, 2006, Bladex had 36,327,939.70 common shares outstanding 
of all classes.

of Latin American and Caribbean countries to promote trade finance in the
