The Board of Directors of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), at the Regular
Meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, July 26, 1999, declared third
quarter dividends.  The details are as follows:

Common Stock - Dividend No. 376

A quarterly dividend of seventy-one and one-quarter cents ($0.7125) on each full
share of outstanding Common Stock (CUSIP 048825 10 3) payable on September
15, 1999, to the stockholders of record at the close of business on August 13,
1999.


$3.00 Preference Stock - Dividend No. 135

A quarterly dividend of seventy-five cents ($0.75) on each full share of
outstanding $3.00 Cumulative Convertible Preference Stock (CUSIP 048825 20 2)
payable on September 20, 1999, to Preference Stockholders of record at the close
of business on August 13, 1999.

$2.80 Preference Stock - Dividend No. 122

A quarterly dividend of seventy cents ($0.70) on each full share of outstanding
$2.80 Cumulative Convertible Preference Stock (CUSIP 048825 40 0) payable
September 20, 1999, to Preference Stockholders of record at the close of
business on August 13, 1999.
