         ARCO Announces Investment in Great Yarmouth Power Limited

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 today announced that ARCO Integrated Power, Inc. has joined
Amoco Power in development of a gas-fired power station at Great Yarmouth,
England. ARCO British Limited will supply gas to the project from its processing
plant at Bacton.

ARCO has acquired a 40% interest in Great Yarmouth Power Limited, the project
company, with Amoco holding the remaining 60%.  The plant is scheduled to be
operational by early 2001. 

Work is now starting on the construction of the 27.5-mile pipeline between
Bacton and the power station site at South Denes. The pipeline should be
completed by late 1999. 

"We are delighted to provide efficient, clean electric resources for the United
Kingdom," said Harold Tyber, President of Arco Integrated Power, Inc. "This
project enhances our business by strategically linking our upstream gas
resources with a significant downstream project.  It is a good advance for
ARCO's power business.
