Purchase of New Equipment in Partnership with Komatsu

Atlantic Coal plc, the AIM listed opencast anthracite coal production and processing company with activities in Pennsylvania, USA, is pleased to announce that following the delivery to its Stockton Mine of the Komatsu Model PC3000 hydraulic excavator it has now ordered an additional ten items of heavy mining plant from Midlantic, the wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu Inc, the world's second largest manufacturer of heavy plant. This equipment purchase is expected to enable the Company to continue to increase production at its Stockton Mine, a producing opencast anthracite operation in Pennsylvania ("Stockton"). The purchase of the full complement of new Komatsu equipment is to be funded through an asset backed lease purchase agreement at a total cost of $20 million over six years.

The equipment, and its use at the mine, includes:

-- Four Komatsu Model HD785-7 100 ton haul trucks (to add to the six trucks purchased in 2014) - hauling overburden;
-- Two Komatsu Model HM400-3 articulated haul trucks - hauling run of mine coal;
-- One Komatsu Model PC490LC-10 hydraulic excavator - excavating run of mine coal;
-- Two Komatsu Model D275AX-SEO dozers - general dozing for excavation and reclamation; and

-- One Komatsu Model WA500-7 wheel loader - loading run of mine to wash plant and anthracite product.

Tim Reilly, North America Territory Manager of Midlantic said "We are delighted that Komatsu are now in an effective partnership with Atlantic at Stockton and also look forward to putting together equipment and finance packages for new Atlantic mines and developments."

Atlantic Managing Director, Steve Best, said, "We anticipate that the acquisition of the new equipment will assist with our operational efficiency and enable us to meet our production goals for the immediate future. The new plant will be utilised across the full range of our mine operations at Stockton and comes at an opportune time as we move into an area of high quality reserve of virgin coal. We are also pleased to continue our relationship with Midlantic and Komatsu as we move towards Komatsu as our exclusive equipment supplier for Stockton and potential future developments.

We look forward to updating you on both Atlantic and Stockton Mine progress."

Think we all missed that rip roaring RNS from Friday. A measly 500k increase in number of shares to take them to 6%.

Atlantic Coal plc ("Atlantic" or the "Company")

Record production at Stockton Mine

Atlantic Coal, the AIM listed opencast anthracite coal production and processing company with primary activities in Pennsylvania, USA announces that the Company's Stockton Mine achieved record production in 2014.

HIGHLIGHTS

· Record production of 165,052 at Atlantic's Stockton Mine in 2014 with an increase of over 8% from the 2013 figure of 151,265

· Strong sales volumes and increased anthracite prices for Stockton anthracite

· New large capacity Komatsu PC3000 excavator scheduled for delivery to Stockton in Q1 2015

Stockton Mine achieved record production of 165,052 tons in 2014. This performance was particularly impressive given the depressed Q1 2014 production caused by the worst winter in Pennsylvania for 20 years.

The Stockton Mine also witnessed strong sales volumes and increased anthracite prices for Stockton anthracite. This performance gave the ATC Board the confidence to order a new high capacity (19.5 cubic metres bucket) Komatsu PC3000 excavator at a cost of US$5m for delivery to Stockton in February 2015. This excavator is perfectly suited to load the fleet of Komatsu 100 ton dump trucks acquired in 2014.

Steve Best, ATC's MD said "We have known for some time that in Stockton we have one of the best run anthracite mining operations in the USA but to achieve record production in 2014 gives me great satisfaction and I also commend the excellent performance of the company's workforce on this achievement. The record production, strong sales volumes and increasing prices gave the Atlantic Board the confidence to order a new high capacity Komatsu PC 3000 excavator which will be perfect for loading our new fleet of Komatsu 100 ton dump trucks acquired in 2014. This, together with the rapidly falling cost of fuel, our biggest single item of expenditure at Stockton, gives me great confidence to look forward to a good year for both Stockton and ATC in 2015."

They anticipated the weather & worked double shifts leading up to the 'big freeze'.
That's implied in one of the RNS's I think.

Sales may well be soaring, but also with the big freeze in the States at the moment, are they getting anything out of the ground???
