VELA gets a mention in today's market report in The Times;

Vela Technologies jumped 50 per cent to 2 1/4p valuing the AIM shell at £1.2million. Trading in the shares resumed on Friday after a rescue fund-raising backed by Richard Griffiths, a Monaco based investor. Expect an operating business to be reversed into Vela in the next couple of months.

Why would we have any confidence in Moss as an investor? He'd be sure to blow the lot on a three-legged horse. I am ceratinly going to vote against, at which stage I assume all remaining funds would simply be returned to shareholders?
Probably 50p each if we are lucky, but at least we will stop Moss having the pleasure of gambling our last few coppers away.

It is nice see a Private Investor getting an RNS for owning 3% of the company; well done. IMHO

You know so much about them, yet you post as if their going bust soon ? "now call me an old cynic"....

Surely your not in this are you ? otherwise why post here ? And if you are, why post such negatives you have to ask ? ... Just curious.

Some may suggest you could be an ALT of your main character here, and bashing it for personal gain, but I dont believe that.

"We as investors are therefore left with a choice - do we believe that 7 weeks is a sufficient timeframe to turn this business around to be cash generative, sustainable and profitable or is this a herculian task especially given their track record to date?"

Even if there is any arguement to be had here, placing or no placing, bust or not bust, WHICH YOU DON'T KNOW EITHER WAY, someone or a good few people think its worth investing in for some "bizarre" reason, this clearly visible over the last week(s) tradelist and graph.

Lets say if it goes bang - its gonna take alot of recent investor money with it aye, would you call this recent activity "silly ill-thought over" decision making then ? It would seem so.

Citytrader just for you - some research:
At the end of March 2011 they had 165K. We know that between Jan and Mar they burned through roughly 125k per month therefore by the end of this month, by extrapolation, they should have 40k left. We are told that they "anticipate receipt of an additional gross cash amount of GBP657,188" - note that this is GROSS. We are then informed that after paying for insurance to cover any tax liabilities for the business sold, and other expenses, they "expect to receive GBP179,043 net from the first instalment by the end of April". Note the word NET. We are even informed for clarity that "Should there be any delays in this payment we would have a working capital deficit".
Now let us assume that they receive the 179k by the end of this month - this swells their coffers to 179+40=219K. Let us also assume that their cash burn rate stays at 125k per month. This then gives them an additional circa 7 weeks worth of breathing space. We as investors are therefore left with a choice - do we believe that 7 weeks is a sufficient timeframe to turn this business around to be cash generative, sustainable and profitable or is this a herculian task especially given their track record to date?
We may take some crumbs of comfort in the fact that "The Board believes that with the receipt of the deferred consideration, the expected growth in China and the material cost savings made, the Group has sufficient working capital to get back into profit" - now call me an old cynic but as Bertrand Russell observed just because someone "believes" in the great teapot in the sky does not necessarily make it true.

Clearly hit a nerve there Maljonic!!

Actually i quite often check up on shares i have sold - it's all part of the learning process to validate previous decisions. Clearly you are more of a trader or have a far larger portfolio than me if you can't monitor previous positions. I currently hold 20 stocks and monitor around 50 others that i have previously held or are looking to.

I posted here because some years ago it was someone elses post with the phrase "wake up" that prompted me to get out of a share that subsequently went bust - therefore merely trying to return the favour. I'm surprised that you consider 2 short posts in a 24 month period as harrassment of a board........ Perhaps you prefer one of those fluffy boards where everyone slaps each other on the back and tell them what great investors they are and how the share is a guaranteed 10 bagger?

If you were offended by the phrase 'wake up' then i would suggest that you have very thin skin and probably don't possess the personality to be a successful investor or trader - but hey it's your money to lose.

PS: I notice ADH down another 13% today? Keep smiling!

Looks like Asia Digital (LON:ADH) has managed to get through the recent resistance and is now a Breakout Stock, See the Summary post below:

It seems that around 0.8 we've got some resistance- 22nd of feb we reached it then turned back- on the 2nd of march the same thing and we're there again now. i believe we've got a pretty good change to break the resistance today and hold above- simply on grounds of much higher volumes with excellent buying pressure behind it.

more drivers to push it through i believe is

1. a broader investor base. more people are buying in and holding-

2. results are close now- 12 trading days away, expecting a build up towards-

3. few shares in freefloat getting less all the time as people buy & hold

4. strong fundamentals- zero debt, huge potential, top experienced directors

wish you all the best today with all your stocks guys!

B

To new investors as we always say here please research Asia Digital (LON:ADH) independently to validate the reasons why were so optimistic about much larger rises to come.

ADH ticking up nicely this morning. I quite like this summery to explain the reasons for today's rise:

Interesting post by pophalos on LSE BB on Asia Digital (LON:ADH)

Away from the screen a bit today so heres a very brief summary i posted on Friday. As we know theres a lot more here. I havent got the figures to hand representing the past & future growth projections but i hope new or potential investors will check those out. Theyre impressive to say the least.

Just to summarize (very briefly) ADH are involved in the digital advertising market in China/Pan Pacific which is projected for massive growth in the coming years. Its been described as "at ground zero" currently and ADH through there subsidiary companys such as Aktiv occupy a top position within the sector.

They also benefit from a zero debt situation with the directors publicly stating that theyre intent on not diluting the current share pool.

Clients so far include HSBC, Mastercard, BBC, Real Player etc. The following links may help & im sure Rich, Bert or any of the other excellent posters here will fill in the gaps.

The clients are top flight multinational companies wishing to maintain competitive advantage by utilizing this well established (but undeveloped for the region) marketing approach.

The share price should increase dramatically with the sector expansion & a short term focus on results out 5th april

HB Markets Daily Smallcap Newsflash including Asia Digital Holdings, Baqus Group, Harvey Nash, NXT and others
You can receive this report by email in the morning by clicking here.

Asia Digital Holdings (ADH, 0.5p, £3.5m), the online marketing group, reports a trading update for the year ended 31 December 2009, is ahead of expectations of pre-tax losses of £0.2m and EPS of -0.2p. The business returned to profitability at an EBITDAS level in Q409. This was driven by the Asian operations achieving break even trading, a post recessionary improvement in the Australian business and cost savings. Following the placing of £1.275m of new monies, the balance sheet has strengthened. The Board continue to manage working capital tightly. We would expect the group to be profitable in the current financial year. The share price has drifted since our Hold recommendation. On 2009 prospective revenue multiple of 0.2x, we believe the stock is undervalued and upgrade our recommendation to a SPECULATIVE BUY with a target price of 1.6p.

NXT (NTX, 13.25p, £20.03m) Interims to December 2009 saw revenues of £1m (2008 £2.1m though that included £1.2m off-off license income) and a net pre-tax loss of £0.86m (profit of £0.28m). Net cash fell to £0.21m but the group has raised an additional £1m via a placing at 13p –representing an additional 5% dilution – announced today. The group is concentrating on achieving further licences for its haptic (force feedback for touch screens) technology which can act as a loudspeaker as well as a touch screen (Apple anyone?), after an agreement with Immersion Corporation that gave NXT access to touch screen technology. The move to flat-screen televisions is set to enhance the outlook for the group's BMR loudspeakers, with its incorporation into some JVC screens. We maintain our SPECULATIVE BUY recommendation in anticipation of positive licensing news.

Rheochem (RHEP, 7.125p, £15.46m) Interims to December 2009 reports revenues of AUS$11.8m (AUS$21.50m) with sharply reduced loss before tax of AUS$1.81m (AUS$10.80m). The group had previously warned that conventional oil & gas exploration customers were reducing drilling activity but in the longer term the move towards coal bed methane and mineral drilling would offset the fall. The group was hit hardest in Australia by the reduction in drilling activity, while New Zealand was flat with contracts on-going till 2011 so far, while it is still tendering in India for work and has received the required licences to operate in Indonesia. The group did not write-down any further its oil and gas exploration assets. With the potential upside of its UK and American exploration assets we maintain our HOLD recommendation.

RISK WARNING NOTICE
All investments are speculative and prices may change quickly and go down as well as up. Past performance will not necessarily be repeated and is no guarantee of future s uccess. There is an extra risk of losing money when shares are bought in some smaller companies including "penny shares". There can be a big difference between the buying price and the sel ling price of these shares and if they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them or in some circumstances, it may be difficult to sell at any price. It may also be difficult for you to obtain reliable information about the value of this investment or the extent of the risks to which it is exposed. Where a company has chosen to borrow money (gearing) as part of its business strategy its share price may become more volatile and subject to sudden and large falls. This investment may not be suitable for all investors, and clients should carefully consider their own personal financial circumstances before dealing in the stock market, particularly those on fixed incomes or approaching retirement age. If you have any doubts you should seek advice from your investment adviser or your broker at this firm.

AIM: The Alternative Investment Market (AIM) is market designed primarily for emerging or smaller companies. The rules of this market are less demanding than those of the official List of the London Stock Exchange and therefore companies quoted on AIM carry a greater risk than a company with a full listing.
