29/9/2005 08:26 | Interim Results RNS Number:8967R Asia Capital PLC 29 September 2005 Asia Capital plc ("Asia Capital" or "the Company") Interim results for the six month period ended 30 June 2005 Asia Capital plc (AIM: ASI), an investment company, announces its financial results for the six month period ended 30 June 2005. CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT Introduction Asia Capital continued its progress during the period under review in positioning itself as an attractive shell company with the objective of identifying a suitable acquisition. We have evaluated a number of potential acquisitions to date and are moving closer to selecting an acquisition candidate. We are determined that such a candidate should meet our acquisition criteria, the most important of which is that any acquisition should have the potential of providing significant capital growth thereby creating value for our shareholders. Group Results Asia Capital has exercised careful cost control during the period under review resulting in an operating loss of just #42,000, compared with an operating loss of #130,000 in the corresponding period last year. Pre and post tax losses were reduced to #69,000 (H1 2004: loss of #118,000) and the loss per share was reduced to 0.08p (H1 2004: 0.14p). Outlook We have reached an advanced stage in discussions with one potential acquisition and look forward to providing an update to shareholders in the near term. 20/9/2005 18:13 | hi BritishBear, Gaming Insight was always about online Casino, etc. Therefore ASI surely must be another GMC and UBT. I wish I had money to invest into these for the long term at 1.25p, but unfortunately I did not sell enough LGB off at 90p in the last rise. I foolishly kept 4/5 of my holding. Now I have over £14,000 LGB between me and my mum, mostly on credit, so they better start rising soon. | lord santafe
20/9/2005 18:09 | See iii looks line my £40k may soon be worth £4k still better that than nothing | johnives

20/9/2005 12:40 | Good to see that you have your finger on the (weak) pulse Responsible Lad. Did you buy in today? Where did the poker site speculation come from by the way? Even if they did launch it is pretty competitive out there. Will keep watching | britishbear
20/9/2005 12:30 | A delayed half million buy. | tony5505
20/9/2005 11:38 | Why the rise?. | lord santafe
12/9/2005 18:23 | no, 2 massive buys today and speculation over them launching a poker site. I am looking to buy into this share for the long term. A 20 bagger no brainer. | lord santafe
12/9/2005 16:21 | down she will go | petebarnes
08/8/2005 20:20 | Steph-M, these have been dead for years! If youre not sat on a loss then you best get out while you can. As stated earlier I've held these a while and ASI (formerly GIN) is nothing but a cash shell with no assets and only a small amount of cash in the bank which never seems likely to be used to make an acquistion... 'jemmimajones' on the iii GMC bb says she heard some news about these over the weekend so maybe something is afoot but don't get your hopes up! Be lucky. PS Steph-M your not Steph-L now are you? | woodwar73 |
