19/7/2001 12:37 | Not defending him...............BU If you steal a car, mug a granny or rob a house you get a slap on the wrist. People lie many times a day, every day and get away scot free. Think there is a problem with the judicial system womewhere along the line. Ben | benstanway
19/7/2001 12:34 | Very lenient judge, considering the gravity of the offences. | spongy2

18/7/2001 23:11 | I cannot imagine what is taking them so long - not been in the courtroom obviously, but seems like a pretty open and shut case to me: Send 'im daaarn! | zzaxx99
18/7/2001 23:06 | Must be a few kn*bheads on the jury for it to take so long!! It's about time he was nailed. | jarthur
18/7/2001 18:12 | My guesses - Guilty 7 years | goatherd
18/7/2001 16:52 | I hope he's found guily but wouldn't be suprised to see him get away with it. Try reading Stranger Than Fiction by Michael Crick - unauthorised biography of JA's life. I think it's been updated with more material since I read it but it really shows him to be a very ambitious, slippery and scheming man. Obviously it could all be untrue but then I guess JA would have sued for libel. | dvda
18/7/2001 16:37 | Funny the number of rumours surrounding JA that put his dubious actions in a better light. Funny the number of them that turn out to be complete fabrications.... | zzaxx99
18/7/2001 16:34 | My source at the time worked for ITN and she believed it. From which we may conclude that he and his cohorts may or may not be good at the game. | tomrob
18/7/2001 16:28 | That was a rumour, possibly put out by himself or his cohorts at the time. Don't underestimate Archer. | spongy2
18/7/2001 16:21 | And I have absolutley no idea if that was true or not but it was some time after the Tory conference bombing if I recall. | tomrob
18/7/2001 16:18 | tomrob and......? | lesk
18/7/2001 16:12 | Way back when, I heard that the woman he was paying off had been seeing not him but a political colleague with a disabled wife. | tomrob
18/7/2001 15:54 | An interesting twist re the jury - most accused are probably horrified at being judged by 12 people without the wherewithal to escape jury service, whereas I bet Jeff relishes in that fact. | wannabee |
