12/9/2012 20:50 | mustau, Anglia America have shut down as unrest spreads. Lets hope it doesn't spread further. Five of AA mines now shut down... | simon templar qc
12/9/2012 20:25 | Mr Murray asked the others to mothball some mines a while back..now they are playin ball ;) Looks like realisation has kicked in and a convenient guise under these strikes. AQP is nicely placed imo, mines waiting to come back, workers in zim who want to work should they get the chance. The ceo wont hold back on making decisions and the miners working for aqp are now directly employed, so relationships are likely to be better than using a third party mining agent. Think the agent is ceasing in October so those savings will be realised v.shortly against the rising plat price and depleting stockpile. Id also guess that when the other aqp mines are re-opened they will follow aqps new model. Again allowing better/direct management and closer relationships with the miners. | dohnot
12/9/2012 20:08 | Anglo amer have announced temp closure of mine in S Africa, will AQP follow? Bought a few this am. | mustau
12/9/2012 20:08 | Simon Tracker funds do not usually hold 3% or more in companies. Asset management funds are the ones who owns in excess of 3% of share capita. There's no need for tracker funds to notified of their sell as they hold less than 3%. Most probably some value investor funds will load up. Hope for a substantial re-rating GLA | ninja 19
12/9/2012 20:05 | Simon, if buys to sells are to believed then we did extremely well today in an otherwise flat general market, as long as we are doing ok who cares guys? Certainly looked like there was a buyer or lots of them picking up stock. | jibba jabber
12/9/2012 19:59 | Ninja. How do you know some of the fundies sold before demotion? No declarations recently! I suspect some of the fundies have sold today the large volume suggests so. Now it maybe the case that once demoted there will be buying by a fundie in another index however I haven't a clue which index fundies buy the most stock. I suspect the higher the league the better the rating however. Time will now tell from here on we may get a better guide the next few days. | simon templar qc

12/9/2012 18:17 | No doubt some of the funds had to sell today due to demotion, hence the large volume. AQP now in small cap index! Thoughts? Has some of the brokers been reiterating higher price targets lately to try and maintain AQPs 250 rating? The cut of point was Tuesday evening dependant on market cap the results of promotion/demotion would have been decided today and then declared after 4.30pn this evening. Its likely most funds would have second guessed the demotion last night and the large volume today is due to this. | simon templar qc
