GRANADA GROUP PLC (the "Company")

#75,000,000 11 1/4 per cent. Bonds 2019 (the "Bonds)

The Company announces that Hospitality Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Granada
Compass plc ("Granada Compass"), has with effect from 28 July 2000 guaranteed
the Company's payment obligations under the Bonds, as part of arrangement
relating to the merger of the Company and Compass Group PLC to create Granada
Compass and the proposed demerger from Granada Compass of Compass Group PLC's
existing businesses and the Company's hospitality division.


#200,000,000 10 per cent. First Mortgage Debenture Stock 2018 (the "Stock")

The Company announces that Hospitality Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Granada
Compass plc ("Granada Compass") and the holding company of each of the companies
which provide security for the Stock, has with effect from 28 July 2000
guaranteed the Company's obligations under the Stock, as part of arrangements
relating to the merger of the Company and Compass Group PLC to create Granada
Compass and the proposed demerger from Granada Compass of Compass Group PLC's
existing businesses and the Company's hospitality division.
