You made me look, I’m fairly certain it was El Salvador. We played the permit issue game, maiden jorc’s, takeover rumours, think Jim Mellon was involved somehow and didn’t Mark Child contemplate the DRC? It’s just a bit hazy, thinking back. Nicaragua was supposedly the jewel at the time from memory. Played the spikes, let it run away once, but then shorted it on the way down to make me feel a bit better. It will always be a could’ve been for me though.

I don't know if regular charting applies to CEY now, its value is just a proportion of Anglogold Ashanti now the takeover is unstoppable, so it would be the Anglogold chart we should be looking at?

MJ if you look in, as you’re on the Silver band wagon now, have you noticed any stocks of interest? Only asking as losing one of my favourites T.SIL to Coeur. Seems to be a bit of takeover activity with First Majestic taking out Gatos a few weeks back too.

RB I hope AAZ rates to its true value but I remain sceptical it was never at full value before this black swan but even that value would be a a good point from here being 20% further up. I invested more when in the 70/80p area after swearing I would never put more money in after Bill's infamous takeover rumour presentation hint drop, I still have shares up at that level, but I do see value and as I said I think the bottom is covered now, surely. Re CTL watch the Investor Meet Company presentation from couple of days ago. The Q&A is quite good as well. It will give you a flavour of where CTL are and you can see management, who I believe are honest, sounding very confident that its all a matter of time, not if, ASX listing and CEOL happen. I think this member of the House Of Lords has it right. Big companies have a lot to answer for! I thought governments were there for the people.... not to to make the big companies richer and sacrificing our standards at the same time. Once Demirli and Gilar are producing and Garadagh is JORCed it'll be interesting to see our market cap. Clearly an offer for us is a little different as it has to convince two men (RV & JS) before it would be put to us. Obv an offer wouldn't come from one of the big boys as we'd still be too small for them to bother with but any number of mid tiers might be interested. If you can make your takeover money back in under 5 years you've got to be laughing as a purchaser.

Well we all know certain gold and copper producers are undervalued..... Now CEY is bought out at a 36% takeover premium.....won't be long before many more value based investors take a look at AAZ and ALTN .....IMHO

someuwin sounds intesting. Amazon have a habit of buying companies they need dont they? Not wanting to ramp this on a takeover rumour there just an observation. Will they need to raise cash to service this contract is the question I would ask? Do they need to outlay on hiring and equipment? The latter probably not the former I would guess so.

RB re ALTN The improvement in results is due to improved grades, improved recoveries, and of course higher gold prices. They are starting to deliver on operations. In the last 2 years the capital expansion is leading to improvement in ore production and processing and that is turned on this quarter and then should ramp up into next quarter. This has been confirmed in an RNS last month and again today. So expanded production getting to near 60k oz Gold(could be more)....and a $100m bond programme announced with $10m drawn for expansion /acquisition/(takeover/merger) (?) , or long awaited TS development announcement....could be a biggee...AND no risk of cheap placings/options etc IMHO someuwin put up a share price graph on ALTN board....with a fair wind could easily more than double from here especially with the gold price where it is....

Happy days here. Great to see 80p already reached before this monumental rubber stamping exercise. I think the share price will actually be better off with the news in 2 separate pieces, as has been done. A 20p rally (so far) after the first one. And hopefully the same again from sometime in July. The positive about selling over half my position is I won't be rushing to sell into a rally. I'm happy to hold until the endgame - a takeover in 5-10 years, after AAZ has drilled and JORC'd a $25 billion resource. Reza retires with a £50m+ payday.

Well Wan' does all the news discussed on the main thread help you relax now ?? Can you get your head around all the information in front of you ? I have watched the AGM again a couple of times. The BoD are all not getting any younger,bar young Sanunoo! Now try and think ahead of the Herd. What price would a large outfit pay for a takeover in a few years time ?? I will not even commit myself to this prediction !! You should know the recent saga of BHP bidding for AAL !! All in the interest of copper mines. Wan' I did not go all in without having a good few hours of thinking and doying my DD. I expect you to start relaxing a lot more now. In the past few months you have caused yourself a lot of unnecessary stress !! I find it quite difficult to put it into words. I am sure you understand what I am saying. Have a very good weekend all. SSB many thanks , I stumbled onto it a short while ago and found the DNA bit of interest plus the few shares and the zoom up, and bought a few on the .strength of that plus poss. takeover .
