13/3/2011 15:51 | Yep but a cheap bid at 60p would take it out? Would you personally vote against 60p? I think many would take that offer given the directors inabilty to move the stock to "Fair value" which for me is about £1 or $1.6bn market cap ($200 an oz in the ground plus upside). A shareprice of anything less than that and this stock has a "For Sale Cheap" sign on it. | davidblack
13/3/2011 14:58 | Unless they're needing to raise capital shortly (unlikely with Gold ridge now providing cash flow), it may not matter to the LT investor - just makes AGLD even better value. Eventually the figures will tell the story. One thing we don't want is an opportunistic take-out before the 200+ kozpa is reached. | boadicea
13/3/2011 09:58 | Or lack of promotion. The Allied stand at PDAC in Toronto, which is the worlds biggest mining show, had some fairly stand offish IR type people on it. Not a drop of enthusiasm, just hired stand ins. The directors of this company should be there selling their product and let the mine managers do the gold delivery. | davidblack
12/3/2011 23:59 | drop could of been down also to the news of a possible tsunami... | divinausa1
12/3/2011 20:02 | divina - Disappointing - and perverse! However, not altogether unwelcome as I never expected to add under 40p again. We had a relatively good run in late February and a (suspiciously?) good day immediately before the gold pour news, so maybe the event was largely discounted in the price. If so, it's something of a compliment to the management as promised events are not always trusted to happen on time in the mining business. It's not difficult to find reasons for a pull-back - year-end tax positioning as you say, the perception that after the pour news there may be a significant wait for the next share price boost as well as increased nervousness generally etc. (Tax position fortunately irrelevant in my ISA.) It remains one of my main four precmet picks, all of which are ISA-able junior/early stage producers with steadily growing resource evaluations. | boadicea
12/3/2011 02:51 | + end of the tax year people i guess will want to take profits, just the timing of 1st pour and great update its a bit disapointing to see the fall... | divinausa1
12/3/2011 00:15 | When a large proportion of holders are sitting on substantial gains it doesn't take a lot of fear to cause a significant amount of profit-taking. Some will have only top-sliced some profit, others may have taken enough to put them in free carry etc. I have taken some gains myself - but elsewhere in order to add here because, after the recent good news, I consider it one of my more promising and undervalued holdings. Nice to see a good finish in Toronto which should give ASX a better start on Monday and hope to see AIM follow through. | boadicea
11/3/2011 21:54 | TSX up 3 cents on our close | juju43
11/3/2011 21:51 | wyle , i think your correct, although the fears appear to be misplaced, onwards and upwards, eventually | dvsfm
11/3/2011 21:42 | Is there any correlation with the share price to the price of gold? I realise the drop this morning probably had more to do with the quake in Japan. | wylecoyote
11/3/2011 21:38 | how much gain? | vivgav
11/3/2011 21:35 | decent finish on TSX | juju43
11/3/2011 14:11 | Small waves so far The tsunami was expected to hit the Northern Mariana Islands, a US territory at 1am local time (8pm AEDT), but no big waves came. Waves near a metre high hit the beach in Saipan, and sirens still sounded in the empty streets. Small tsunami waves hit the Philippines hours after the quake, but there were no reports of local damage or casualties. "This looks like good news," Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology director Renato Solidum said after reporting waves ranging from 30cm to one metre. The Indonesian meteorology and geophysics agency said a small tsunami reached Indonesia's eastern coastline without causing any damage. "A tsunami of only 10 centimetres triggered by the earthquake in Japan was detected in the North Sulawesi and Maluku islands," an agency official said. "We have just lifted the tsunami alert in Indonesia." In Guam, authorities advised people to evacuate low areas of the US territory and seek ground higher than 15 metres above sea level and 30 metres inland. Australia was not in danger because it was protected by island nations to the north, including Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, that would largely absorb any wave activity, said Chris Ryan, a forecaster at the National Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre. | matt
11/3/2011 12:21 | Am I correct in understanding that the mines are inland and on higher ground. The process plant at simberi looks to be on the opposite side of the island from any approaching waves? | matt
11/3/2011 11:57 | still no RNS on the mine resource update either, should add a bit | dvsfm
11/3/2011 11:53 | yeah agreed just added a few more now.. think others are doing the same looking at the last few trades.... | ollyb10
11/3/2011 11:43 | yep, looks okay, longer term this price with the cashflow to come is an awesome oppotunity, just got just over 21k in two trade at 37.5. GLA, it will be okay in the long run | dvsfm
11/3/2011 11:18 | Good news, hopefully will stall the fall.... | ollyb10
11/3/2011 11:15 | i agree absolutely mad, just sit tight and wait this big wave will soon pass IF we are affected (i doubt it though) it wont take long to get back upto full steam again. I was hoping for an opp in April for next years ISA, may get it now | dvsfm
11/3/2011 11:10 | Is there any real reason for this dramatic drop? Esp given the post yesterday which hasn't been reported on UK RNS yet? | ollyb10
11/3/2011 10:57 | dropped nearly 15% since they announced 1st gold pour NUTS! about £40m wipped off the market cap complete nuts | divinausa1
11/3/2011 10:19 | harmony gold in PNG have said the operations are not affected, I suspect this drop is related to this panic as usual | dvsfm
11/3/2011 09:03 | this is one painful share to own- are we sunamied now? | juju43
