Further to confirmation by the Financial Services Authority and the London Stock
Exchange the Company has block listed 115,167 Alliance Boots plc ordinary 37 7/
39 pence shares, comprising 31,260 ordinary shares in relation to the Boots
Executive Share Option Plan 2001 and 83,907 ordinary shares in relation to the
Boots Group Executive Share Option Plan 2002.

Alliance Boots plc's issued share capital now consists of 967,669,696 ordinary
shares with a nominal value of 37 7/39 pence each, with voting rights. Alliance
Boots plc does not hold any shares in Treasury.

The above figure (967,669,696) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Alliance Boots plc under
the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
