New Board and Management at Perstorp AB;
Delisting of Perstorp shares

At Perstorp AB's Extraordinary General Meeting on July 9, a new Board of
Directors was elected.  The new Board of Directors consists of Hans Larsson,
Fredrik Arp (re-election), Bo Berggren (employee representative), Stig
Gustavson, Lars Hansson (employee representative), Stefan Linder, Harald Mix and
Michael Rosenlew.

At the statutory Board meeting following the General Meeting, Hans Larsson was
appointed Chairman of the Board, Lennart Holm was appointed as acting President
and First Vice President and Inge Pettersson as Second Vice President of
Perstorp AB. The aforementioned persons hold the corresponding positions within
Sydsvenska Kemi AB.

Lennart Holm is currently President of Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB and
member of Perstorp's executive management. Inge Pettersson is President of Neste
Oxo AB.

Perstorp AB has applied to the Stockholmsborsen  (Stockholm Exchange) regarding
a delisting of Perstorp shares as from Monday July 23, 2001. Provided that
delisting will take place July 23, the last day of listing of shares in Perstorp
AB will be Friday, July 20, 2001. Trading in Perstorp shares on the London Stock
Exchange will cease in connection with the delisting from the Stockholm
Exchange.

Sydsvenska Kemi AB, which owns more than 90 percent of the shares with more than
90 percent of the votes in Perstorp AB, has claimed redemption of the other
shareholders' shares in Perstorp AB. Since an agreement with respect thereto has
not been reached between Sydsvenska Kemi AB and the other shareholders,
Sydsvenska Kemi AB has requested to the Board of Directors of Perstorp AB that
the dispute is referred to arbitrators.
