Ake Fredriksson resigns from position as
President and Chief Executive Officer of Perstorp AB

Ake Fredriksson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Perstorp AB, has
informed the company's Board of Directors that he has decided to resign from
this position.

"The task of streamlining the Group that I was assigned by Perstorp's Board has
now been completed, following the sale of Perstorp to Sydsvenska Kemi," says Ake
Fredriksson, commenting on his decision.

"The restructuring of the Group has been implemented, the Perbio Science
biotechnology operations have been spun off to shareholders and listed on the
stock exchange, as have the Pergo flooring operations.  As a result of the sale
of Perstorp AB, the remaining chemical operations will be part of a larger unit
with increased development potential. In other words, this is an appropriate
time for me to leave the company."

Ake Fredriksson will continue to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer
of Perstorp AB until after the Extraordinary General Meeting on July 9, at which
a new Board of Directors will be appointed.
