14/3/2017 15:54 | jb30. Never did find anything satisfactory-but Investors Champion website has been useful if I've been in doubt. They charge a couple of pounds for each search but give THEIR opinion on whether or not a stock qualifies. Also a bit of content and analysis as well. | cwa1

05/9/2014 12:12 | Pretty much all the markets infected now, if not by algo's then direct central bank intervention. Are we the very last generation of retail investors to compete against the robots? I hope you have some physical gold! This ain't going to be pretty once the transfer of equity has transfered from cb's and their institutional agents into retail hands. | yikyak

14/6/2013 12:25 | Decent figures from ESR again today, AIM divi payer ENSOR HOLDINGS PLC ("Ensor", the "Group" or the "Company") Preliminary results for the year ended 31 March 2013 CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT * Operating profit: Up 66% to GBP2,427,000 * Earnings per share: Up 53% to 5.5p per share * Final dividend: Up 52% to 0.8p per share We have just completed what has been a more challenging year for the Group on a number of fronts. The economy of the construction sector, which directly affects us, was largely static during the year, making trading more difficult. We also continued the exciting integration of our recent acquisition, Technocover Limited, into the Group. I am pleased to say however that the year's outcome has been excellent and has continued the progress of previous years. | bigbigdave
12/6/2013 01:55 | Recommendations: 1 I have a discretionary portfolio of aim shares with killik for iht avoidance purposes and a self select portfolio of aim shares for iht avoidance purposes recently I requested the finance directors to confirm the following qualify for brp relief: pure, phc, pim, tef, anp, eah, crw, arbb, halo, idox, isg ,nbi, qfi, to date only one reply, phc non qualifying as dual listed. I will continue to hold but in another portfolio | cnx
24/5/2013 09:28 | Bought a starter-for-ten holding in CLIN. Non exec unloaded recently so I suspect a stock overhang. Bought more on the business description than the numbers. Not enough history in the numbers. Large (for me) holding in TRCS and a small holding in GDP. | apad
19/5/2013 11:34 | Simple7 If you're open to OEICs then Marlborough Special Situations and Marlborough UK Micro-Cap Funds are well-run IMV. (Choose 'professional investor' for fuller information) Have a look through the fact sheets and so on here: You can pick them up through a supermarket or broker like HL to avoid the initial charge. (I don't hold any funds now as I prefer to choose my own stocks, but when I did, that's where I had them, and although I sometimes have reservations about HL as stockbrokers I think they're pretty good with funds - I certainly never found anyone to beat their discounts on the charges) Edit: they're actually Unit Trusts, not OEICs. Not sure I remember what that means, but IIRC it has something to do with the reason there's a spread between buying and selling prices - however the spread isn't as alarming as it looks as it's mostly made up of the initial charge which is discounted. Best check all this though as it's a few years since I had any funds and I forget the detail. | zangdook
14/5/2013 21:23 | Thanks for posting the list ... I hold CRAW of those included. It declared a maiden dividend in its full year results. 4.4% yield at 4.5p, yet available to buy at around mid price at present, so nearer a 5% dividend yield. Ticks the box of a small cap, valued at under £2.4m, and trades below its tangible net asset value. Turnover £18.8m EBITDA £0.7m PBT £0.3m Forecast Dividend 0.25p per share, a 6% forward yield on forecast record revenues and a PBT of £410k (EBITDA over £800k). Bombed out chart, yet Crawshaws have performed steadily over the past 3 years or so, moving from a net debt position of over £1m to a net cash position right now. Next news due in June with the AGM statement. Current outlook: Like for like sales up, improving gross margins and improving costs. Undervalued IMO and worth a look. CR, just read your header ... so here's the info requested: CRAW - meat focused retailer - dividend proposed 0.2p. Yield 4.88% | chrisis33

14/5/2013 16:04 | Ah I see your point, but do have exposure to that sector already. Wheras my stock allocation has been overweight large caps and now wish to rotate a % to smaller caps, but would rather an ETF than a fund and preferably aim stocks to main ecxhange small caps | simple7
14/5/2013 14:27 | Yes thank you steelwatch, but I was looking to diversify from larger cap to smaller cap stocks on the AIM via a fund or ETF so not sure how PHAG would be of benefit to me? | simple7
14/5/2013 13:56 | PHAG is on the main market. | steelwatch
14/5/2013 13:51 | Cant find PHAG on AIM I think its on the main exchange. I am not confident in investing in individual AIM shares so will prefer to look for emerging market ETF's or even Europe indexes like France Italy Spain Ireland and so forth. | simple7
14/5/2013 13:07 | For something pure, PHAG | steelwatch |
