APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION OF SHARES TO LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE PLC AND BLOCK 
LISTING OF SHARES 
 
 
6 August 2009 - Addax Petroleum Corporation (the "Corporation" or "Addax 
Petroleum") has applied to the Financial Services Authority ("FSA") and London 
Stock Exchange plc ("LSE") for a block listing of 1,324,132 of its common shares 
(which, together with the existing block listing of 5,929,234 common shares, 
represents the maximum number of shares to be issued in relation to the 
$300,000,000 convertible bonds due in 2012, at an adjusted conversion price of 
not less than CAD 45.827), and for admission of those shares to the Official 
List of the FSA and to trading on the main market of the LSE. These shares, if 
and when issued by the Corporation, will rank pari passu with the Corporation's 
existing issued common shares.  These shares have also been listed with the 
Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX") but will not be posted for trading on the TSX 
until such time as the shares have been issued by the Corporation in accordance 
with the terms and conditions of the convertible bonds.
