The Board wishes to announce the decision of the Traffic Commissioners following
the Public Inquiry held on Monday 16 August 2004 referred to in the Announcement
made by the Company on 9 August 2004.
The Traffic Commissioner's decision was as follows:-
"that the maximum number of vehicles to be used at any one time under this
licence is reduced to 100 from Wednesday 1 September 2004 to Thursday 30
September 2004 inclusive, under Section 17(3)(a) and (c) of the Act;
that the hearing is adjourned to Tuesday 5 October 2004 @ 13:00 hours, to
further consider the financial standing of the company;
that the company is to submit by 31 October 2004 a copy of their alcohol policy
as adopted by the Board;
that additional Transport Managers are to be nominated by 30 September 2004,
detailing responsibilities of each of the Traffic Area Office;
that in respect of the Transport Act 1985, the decision be reserved."
The Directors noted that:
the Company currently uses 100 of its 110 licences, the reduction of 10 licences
for a period of one month will not impact the Company's commercial activities,
and
in the interim statement to 29 February 2004 announced on 28 May 2004 the
Company stated that it had 155 discs. At the Public Inquiry the Traffic
Commissioner stated that it was due to an oversight at his office that led to
the issue of a licence that stated the Company was authorised to hold 155 discs
when in fact the number was 110.
