Consumers who want to fight the high cost of gas this summer can turn to a product that not only increases fuel economy 6-17.5%, but also boosts horsepower significantly and permanently protects the engine itself. It's like getting an extra gallon or two of gas per tank full for free. Government, university and military studies show that XcelPlus Permanent Engine Protection (12 fl oz for $29.95) does all that and more, like reducing noise, wear, friction, oil consumption, amp draw, idle overheating and corrosion. The U.S. Department of Energy tested XcelPlus (PINK SHEETS: XLPI) and found a 6.38% increase in fuel economy after the unique lubricant was added to a typical car's oil crankcase. The University of Utah's test of the product showed a 17.5% increase in fuel economy, a 15.6% increase in horsepower, and a corresponding reduction in engine friction of 12.6%. Several other government, laboratory and university studies confirm the product's effectiveness. The U.S. Army compared use of Armored Personnel Carrier fan cooling systems with and without XcelPlus gear treatment. They found that the one without XcelPlus led to almost total system failure during accelerated wear tests, while the system with XcelPlus was found to be serviceable with no indication of wear or deterioration. It was recommended that these military vehicles be run only with XcelPlus installed. "One of the biggest problems I have selling XcelPlus is the old saying 'it sounds too good to be true'," said XcelPlus International Inc. President Billy R. Smith, "especially in light of the fact that the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov) has sued many of our competitors for making false and unsubstantiated claims. We know our products work as promised and we have the data as well as anecdotal evidence to prove it, something that none of our competition can say. In fact, some oil additives actually hurt your vehicle's engine, not help it," Smith noted Several years ago Smith drove his 1992 Honda Accord treated with his product 1,100 local miles with no oil in it. "I was challenged by a mechanic friend of mine who told me to put up or shut up, so I drained the oil. At 1,100 miles without oil it finally turned a rod bearing. After fixing it, we re-treated the engine and then would drain the oil out and drive for 300-mile intervals. At 278,000 miles we had driven the car a total of 4,700 miles without oil and it still ran fine. A friend of mine still has the car which his grandson drives, almost nine years after our first experiment," Smith said. Unique, Proprietary Formula The formulas used in the XcelPlus product line were invented 30 years ago by John Bishop of Houston, who developed a lubrication and metal treating concept today known as Permafused Lubrication (PfL)(TM). Based upon the premise that 95% of all mechanical failure is directly related to friction and friction-related heat, XcelPlus products reduce the amount of friction that is produced in mechanical systems by placing a tough, PfL dry-film lubricant in them. Bishop's formulas have been marketed as Lubrilon, Slick 50(R) (1978-1984), as well as Matrix, Camtron, and several other labels which no longer contain these formulas. XcelPlus Permanent Engine Protection is the only product on the market with Bishop's formulas. The product goes in as a liquid and turns into a solid once it gets hot. First it cleans all lubricated metal parts within the engine. Then the coating process begins and forms a 1-2 micron thin coating that is permanently bonded to the metal in the engine. The coating will not bond to itself, nor will it come out with an oil change or engine flush. In addition, XcelPlus products do not contain any harmful solids such as Teflon(R), Moly, extra ZDDP, Halides, Sulfides or Extreme Pressure Additive products. The company sells similar products for permanent protection and improved performance of engines in trucks, vans, RVs, motorcycles, aircraft, boats and PWCs, agricultural and lawn equipment, snowmobiles, military equipment and other types of gas- or diesel-powered vehicles. XcelPlus also distributes and markets a wide range of products that extend the lives and improves the overall efficiencies of transmissions, differential, power steering systems, wheel bearings, industrial bearings, cables, fan motors and industrial equipment. Smith first used the product in his vehicle in 1992 and became sold on its effectiveness. A few years later he became a major distributor of various products using Bishop's formulas. After leaving the business for a few years, in 2001 he reunited with Bishop and his formulas by founding XcelPlus, which today generates most of its sales from its website www.xcelplus.com. "If everyone in the U.S. used the XcelPlus Engine Treatment in their vehicles, we could reduce our current fuel consumption by 7.8 billion gallons of fuel per year, based upon the results of tests on our product by the U.S. Department of Energy," Smith said. XcelPlus International Inc. is a publicly-held company (PINK SHEETS:XLPI) incorporated in New York with executive offices in Saluda, Va.
