VCampus Corporation (OTCBB:VCMP.OB) announced today that it has been
selected by ISACA to create a web-based exam preparation course for the
Certified Information Systems Auditor™ (CISA®)
certification. The CISA certification, established in 1978 and held by
more than 50,000 professionals, measures excellence in IS auditing,
control and security.
Demand for the CISA certification has been steadily increasing since the
designation was first introduced. Its growth has recently accelerated as
the need for professionals with proven skills, knowledge and experience
in assessing an organization’s IT and business
systems has become mandated by law or been recognized as good business
practice. More than 30,000 IT practitioners are expected to take the
exam in 2007. The growth of the certification has resulted in adding an
extra exam administration to accommodate this demand. An even greater
demand for the certification is anticipated due to a new initiative from
the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Workforce
Improvement Program that names CISA as an approved certification for its
information assurance professionals. Elsewhere, numerous countries,
organizations and groups have also recognized and required the
attainment of CISA certification as a requirement to conduct systems
audits or security reviews.
The online preparation course will allow ISACA to reach professionals
throughout the world with a consistent, efficient and cost effective
tool for exam preparation.
The goal of the course is to effectively and efficiently prepare
professionals for the CISA exam and will include interactive exercises,
case studies, review sessions and practice exams. The CISA test-prep
portal will feature six modules that map directly to each area of the
certification exam and provide credential holders and other IT audit
professionals with a means toward recertification. These modules include
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery; Protection of Information
Assets; IT Service Delivery and Support Systems, Infrastructure and
Information Life-Cycle Management; IT Governance; and IS Audit Process.
“In this era of corporate governance,
information systems auditors continue to play an increasing and critical
role in ensuring regulatory compliance, and we’ve
seen tremendous growth worldwide in the demand for CISA professionals as
a result,” said Mark H. Petterson, CISA, CPA,
member of ISACA’s CISA Certification Board. “To
better prepare those seeking certification, we are excited to be able to
provide an intensive Web-based learning portal that can be easily
accessed by our global constituency. We selected VCampus to develop our
portal based on its proven track record of creating specialized
e-learning experiences for industry certifications.”
“VCampus is dedicated to providing
professionals the full power of Web technologies and resources to help
them successfully prepare for certification exams,”
said Nat Kannan, CEO of VCampus. “We are
truly excited about being selected by a world leading certifying body
such as ISACA after a rigorous evaluation. We’ll
leverage our experience in delivering more than 3 million online courses
globally to create an online portal tailored to the specific needs of
CISA exam takers. With this portal, ISACA will be able to expand its
CISA-preparation offerings and implement an effective online training
solution for its members.”
The ISACA partnership extends VCampus’
commitment to helping organizations create and develop certification
training programs within the IT, security and financial industries. ISACA’s
CISA portal will be designed based on VCampus’
proven Select Partner®
program methodology. This program aligns subject matter expertise from
partner organizations, such as ISACA, with VCampus’
online educational expertise to create structured and specialized
e-learning curricula and resources.
VCampus and ISACA plan for the CISA exam-preparation portal to be
available by the end of the third quarter of 2007, in time for
candidates to prepare for the December exam administration.
