The Keith Companies Wins the Sears American Dream-Maker Award for
Habitat for Humanity
IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Keith Companies, Inc.
(NASDAQ:TKCI), an engineering and consulting services firm, announced today
that it is the first place winner of the Sears American Dream-Maker Award. In
2002, Sears introduced the Sears American Dream Campaign, a $100 million
community commitment focused on strengthening families, homes, and communities
by building houses for those in need to help them realize the American dream of
owning a home.
The winner designates the charity of its choice to receive the proceeds of the
award. The Keith Companies selected Habitat for Humanity of Orange County to
receive the $25,000 award. Habitat for Humanity of Orange County's mission is
to create long-term partnerships to build and renovate affordable housing for
responsible families in need. Many of the Company's staff participated in a
construction day for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, which was subject
of the award application.

Over the course of the project, Westminster I, The Keith Companies donated
civil engineering design and field consultation services for the four,
single-family homes. The Company also sponsored 25 of its employees to provide
on-site volunteer services to help construct the roofing and rafters for the
residences. In addition, the Company dedicates 16 hours per month to provide
professional engineering services to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and
is currently working on nine Habitat homes that will be built in Buena Park,
California.
A ceremony will be held on February 9, 2005 at which time The Keith Companies
will present the $25,000 check to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is dedicated to ending substandard
housing and building strong communities. Habitat uses non-government donations
of funding, materials, professional services and volunteer labor to build
simple, decent homes which are sold to qualified very low-income families for a
1% down payment and a zero-interest mortgage. Mortgage payments are recycled
to build more Habitat homes. Habitat families contribute 500 hours of "sweat
