Speedus Provides Verizon Wireless Extensions to Answer Patent Suits

NEW YORK, June 7  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Speedus Corp. (NASDAQ:SPDE) today announced it has agreed to provide 30-day extensions to Verizon Wireless to answer the two law suits that Speedus' unit CellularVision Technology & Telecommunications, L.P. (CT&T) filed on May 11 against Cellco Partnership (d/b/a Verizon Wireless). Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE and LSE: VOD). The suits address technologies now used by Verizon Wireless to transmit television to wireless users over cellular networks and the simultaneous transmission of analog and digital signals within the same bandwidth.

In connection with the two complaints, CT&T is being represented by Fort Lauderdale-based Brown Robert LLP. Verizon Wireless is being represented by New York City-based Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and by Miami-based Kenny Nachwalter, P.A.
