Sears said more than 40 Kenmore smart appliances have been certified as Works with Alexa, meaning they meet Amazon.com's (AMZN) criteria for responsiveness, reliability and functionality.
"Kenmore, one of the major appliance brands sold by Amazon, now has 46 appliances certified as Works with Alexa," Peter Boutros, president of Kenmore, Craftsman and DieHard brands and chief brand officer for Sears, said Thursday. "This certification will provide even more visibility for our brand on Amazon and at Sears."
Customers will be able to use voice commands via Alexa to control their Kenmore appliances. Washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and refrigerators are among the smart appliances that can work with the Alexa home assistant, the company said.
