QRS Music Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:QRSM), a world
leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of pianos,
piano-based audio and multimedia products, music and piano
accessories, today announced the appointment of Lee Slaton to the
position of Director of Marketing.
Tom Dolan, President and CEO, said, "Ms. Slaton brings over 25
years of marketing experience working with high-profile companies such
as Revlon, Procter & Gamble, Glamour Magazine, The Container Store and
others. She will play an instrumental role in helping QRS Music
continue to strengthen its position as a leading provider of
piano-based entertainment systems and pianos. An important focus of
this new position will be to help define and ensure the execution of
the company's strategic vision and product marketing initiatives. She
will help achieve this goal by increasing awareness of QRS Music's
Pianomation(R) solutions and extending QRS' reach into new and growing
markets."
Ms. Slaton joins QRS after four years as a successful independent
marketing consultant. Previously, Ms. Slaton was the director of
marketing at Kennedy Group, the largest wholesale manufacturers group
in the country for decorative accessories and gift items, where she
successfully turned around an unprofitable syndicated retail catalog
business and developed the first direct mail catalogs for Norwalk
Furniture and Bassett Furniture. Prior to that, Ms. Slaton was
director of marketing at The Container Store where she led critical
initiatives that helped the company maintain a revenue growth of 20
percent annually during her tenure. Ms. Slaton has also served as a
vice president at the advertising agency Tracy-Locke and began her
career at the Benton & Bowles agency in New York City.
Ms. Slaton has a degree in fine arts from Denison University in
Ohio as well as an MSA from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism
in Evanston, Ill.
Ms. Slaton will be at the annual convention of the National
Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) later this month in Anaheim,
Calif.
