PowerLinx, Inc. (OTCBB:PWNX), a developer, manufacturer and seller of
power line communication products, today announced their 2007 New
Product development plans. The four products scheduled to launch in the
coming months include: Tune DogTM,
an iPod/MP3 accessory which will allow the user to send music wirelessly
to any room in their home from an iPod®, MP3
player or PC using only existing electrical wiring; Audio EverywhereTM,
which allows a stereo to send audio through a home’s
existing electrical wiring; The Rear Speaker Surround Sound
Installation KitTM, which allows a
surround sound system to send audio to the rear speakers using existing
electrical wiring and a new IP Netcam that uses a
home’s electrical wiring as a “digital
pipeline” to deliver streaming video from up
to 6 individual cameras around your home or business using a PC.
“Consumer-based market research is a huge part
of our product development process. We have a world class technology
division, but that doesn’t mean anything
unless we understand our consumer,” said
PowerLinx CEO and Chairman Michael Tomlinson. “These
four new products take advantage of our company’s
greatest strengths and we are excited about watching their launch into
the marketplace.”
All four new products are targeted at the home and small business
consumer. Tune DogTM and Audio
EverywhereTM focus on helping
music and home entertainment enthusiaists enjoy the things they love
even more. No matter where you store your music in your home, Tune DogTM
will let you send that music through the existing electical wiring in
your house to speakers in other locations. Audio EverywhereTM
is designed to enable stereo system users to effortlessly
install an additional set of speakers anywhere in their home. The
Rear Speaker Surround Sound Installation KitTM
allows home theatre users send an audio signal from a system to other
points in a room without running additional, unsightly wiring. The new IP
Netcam is a very cost effective way for a home or office to create a
security solution, creating a video network using a single personal
computer and the existing electrial wiring in a building.
“We’ve worked very
hard over the past 18-months to develop the necessary manufacturing
capacity to be successful in the large, fast growing home entertainment
markets we are targeting,” added Tomlinson. “An
added feature we’ve included in all our new
products is that they have been engineered to operate on both domestic
and international electrical systems. We see this as a huge advantage as
we expand our distribution outside the United States to other
potentially profitable markets.
