Olympus Corp. (7733.TO) Monday denied media reports that said its former auditing firm, KPMG AZSA LLC, quit being the Japanese company's auditor because of accounting issues relating to the 2008 acquisition of the U.K.'s Gyrus Group Ltd.
In a statement, Olympus said it changed its auditors as the contract for the previous auditor expired.
The company also said it considers its earnings for the fiscal year ended March 2009 to have been compiled appropriately.
