Medical Services Receives Independent Test Results

EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 1  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medical Services International Inc (Pink Sheets: MSITF) is pleased to announce that it has received independent test results from a major regulatory agency related to its VScan TB test kit showing that it is the most reliable test available. Of the 19 tests used in the study, 7 received a rating of most reliable. The VScan TB test was one of the seven. In addition to the most reliable rating, the VScan TB test had a specificity of 95%. This was the highest of all the other tests considered most reliable. The highest that any other test kit achieved was a specificity of < 72%. The VScan TB test kit is the only test that does not give false positives.

The Company has had significant interest in its VScan TB test kit. As a result of this study, it is expected that the interest will increase significantly impacting VScan sales.

Regulatory agencies estimate that the number of new TB cases to be 8.8 worldwide annually. It is projected that this number will increase to over 10 million worldwide despite the implementation of a global strategy for diagnosing and treating TB in over 182 countries.

Simple, accurate, inexpensive Point of care diagnostic tools for TB are urgently needed.
