SGS S.A. (SGSN.VX) Tuesday said it plans to acquire CIMM Tecnologías y Servicios S.A. from Centro de Investigación Minera y Metalúrgica" [CIMM], a Chilean public entity, for an undisclosed sum.

MAIN FACTS:

- CIMM T&S is a leading provider of technical services to the mining industry in Chile, and focuses on geology and mining, metallurgy, environmental management, analytical services and industrial support.

- Headquartered in Santiago, it has operations in Antofagasta, Calama, Copiapó, La Serena and Rancagua.

- Founded in 1996, CIMM T&S employs over 2,000 staff. Revenues for 2011 are projected to exceed US$ 65 million.

- The transaction is expected to close within the next few weeks
