Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd. (JAR.LN) announced Thursday that it has reached agreement on the terms of a partial cash offer to acquire 10% of insurance firm Jardine Lloyd Thompson PLC (JLT.LN) for GBP166.3 million, or 765 pence a share.
MAIN FACTS:
-Jardine Matheson would acquire a further 21.7 million shares , taking its holding in JLT to over 40%.
-Jardine Matheson confirmed that JLT is a core strategic investment and that it has no intention of divesting any shares in JLT.
-Shares closed Wednesday at 619 pence valuing the company at GBP1.35 billion.
