The Nation's Second Largest Low-Cost Carrier's 'Special Needs'
Travelers to Enjoy Improved Passenger Service
Via Synapse(TM)-Based System
Integrated Business Systems and Services, Inc. (IBSS) (OTCBB:
IBSS), inventor and marketer of Synapse(TM), the powerful development
and execution technology for mobile computing and RFID software
applications, and Prospect Airport Services, Inc., one of the Nation's
leading providers of contracted services to major airlines, today
announced that America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA), the Nation's second
largest low-cost carrier, has selected Prospect and its PDS (Prospect
Dispatch System) Express solution for its airport hub location in Las
Vegas.
The Synapse(TM)-based PDS Express system was developed through a
joint endeavor between Prospect and IBSS to address Prospect's unique
business challenges. The PDS Express system enabled increases in both
productivity and customer satisfaction since its initial installation
at Prospect's operations in the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The system will be serving the special needs of disabled, elderly
and other special needs passengers of America West. PDS Express
exceeds all guidelines mandated by the U.S. Department of
Transportation (DOT) for handling 'special needs' travelers in
accordance with The Air Carrier Access Act of 1986.
Powered by IBSS' Synapse(TM), PDS Express utilizes a variety of
rugged wireless hand-held mobile devices and provides seamless
real-time integration with America West's reservation system. PDS
Express provides Prospect's passenger service attendants, supervisors
and dispatchers with the accurate, time-sensitive dispatch and online
flight information necessary to electronically log passenger pick-up
and delivery, along with real-time access and connectivity with
Prospect's on-site operations center.
James Wajda, Regional Vice President of Prospect, noted, "We are
excited to expand our relationship with America West Airlines and to
providing the PDS Express benefits of greatly improved passenger
service to their elderly and special service passengers in Las Vegas.
PDS Express has proven to virtually eliminate passenger service DOT
complaints while improving overall passenger service in areas such as
passenger name recognition, real-time connecting gate information and
data collection."
Continuing, Wajda added, "In addition, the biggest beneficiaries
of PDS Express will be the elderly or disabled air travelers of
America West who will be receiving increased personalized service now
when traveling through the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport and the Las
Vegas McCarran International Airport. Furthermore, Prospect intends to
release enhanced versions of PDS Express that will be able to
electronically track the progress of unaccompanied minors between
connecting flights in a busy airline hub. This will give parents peace
of mind when they are able to verify that their child has successfully
made a connection in a distant city. This is just one of many new
capabilities slated for our PDS Express software framework."
Vicki L. Strobel, President of Prospect, added, "Prospect is able
to deliver to our clients our powerful combination of contract
services expertise and technology with which to improve their
business. After our success in the Detroit airport where PDS Express
increased customer satisfaction by 25% while increasing our
productivity by 10%, I am looking forward to the results that can be
achieved with PDS Express at America West's hub airport in Las Vegas."
George Mendenhall, Chief Executive Officer of IBSS, stated, "Our
relationship with Prospect Airport Services continues to demonstrate
how IBSS' technology, methodology and expertise can uniquely enable
our customers. The rapid deployment capability of the PDS Express
Synapse(TM)-based solution lets Prospect respond to their customers in
a new and highly effective way. PDS Express is highlighting Prospect's
value proposition of excellence in delivering improved efficiency and
enhanced customer service."
