The demand for GreenGold's jatropha oil has increased as a new way of replacing coal, gas, oil / petrol and nuclear as power sources. GreenGold realized that the demand of the supply volume of jatropha oil will be extremely high for years to come; thus we set the target of increasing to over 100,000 hectares of jatropha plantations, not only in Mindanao Island, Philippines but expanding to Texas and Big Island, Hawaii, USA. Last November, about 12,197 hectares of agricultural land from the Agusan, Bukidnon and Surigao Tribal Ancestral claims plus 18 acres of agricultural land in the Big Island of Hawaii were added to the current total number of hectares of land of GreenGold's Jatropha Plantations, thus inching us closer to achieving our goal of about 100,000 hectares of land by the end of 2013.
Note that Jatropha oil as biofuel produces energy without releasing or increasing the carbon dioxide emission (CO2) into the atmosphere; while fossil fuels will emit the carbon back into the atmosphere, since this had been stored underground for millions of years. Jatropha oil biofuels are nearly carbon neutral, less likely to increase atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases.
Actual positive performance results of green oil-powered vehicles have been confirmed. In 2007, Le Mans 24-hour race entered by Lola was powered by a Jatropha green oil blend. Several months ago a new British sports car, the Trident (cen), ran on pure jatropha biodiesel oil, went 2,000 miles on 20 gallons of fuel. Houston-based Continental Airlines had tested their jatropha powered jet planes. These results confirmed that the jatropha green alternative technology is the cutting edge alternative biofuel; it was tested and proven to run powerful motor vehicles and airplanes that can perform well even on pure, undiluted green biofuel.
Update on the forthcoming visit of CEO Manolo Tecson to Europe and the USA is postponed to mid January 2010, due to the delay of obtaining the Travel VISAS. GreenGold is looking forward to completing the purchase and delivery of the European Biodiesel Refining plant in this coming year.
