The High and Low Velocity parachutes are designed to re-supply troops using the same container systems as are currently being used with the traditional nylon round canopy parachutes such as the 26-foot Ringslot and G-12 system. Both High and Low V chutes are constructed of low cost, easily obtainable, woven polypropylene. The High V is designed for deployments between 15,000-25,000 AGL while the Low V is for altitudes of 500-1,200 ft AGL.
"We are just ecstatic that the Government has recognized all the hard work we have undertaken in preparing ourselves for such contracts. We have invested heavily in capital, infrastructure, and quality processes to get to the point that we can meet and, in fact, exceed the military's exacting standards and required delivery schedules," said BRS CEO and President, Larry Williams. Added Vice President for Sales & Marketing, Gary Moore, "These products will provide our troops in the field sorely needed supplies in areas of the world inhospitable to ground-based re-supply methods. We are humbled by our part in this effort and only glad that the long-term strategy we undertook more than two years ago to diversify our product mix is now paying off with these substantive wins." Mr. Moore added, "No doubt these contracts will lead to even bigger opportunities within the Defense world where our almost 30 years of experience making quality commercial parachute systems can shine in new ways."
