Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:BRSI), a manufacturer of
whole-airplane emergency parachute systems, announced today that its
26,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Mexico has been notified by
an auditor from the International Standards Organization (ISO) that the
operation successfully passed its ISO 9001:2000 Quality Systems
assessment. ISO is a network of the national standards institutes from
157 countries and now recognizes the BRS de Mexico plant as "maintaining
and exercising systems which meet very stringent requirements" in terms
of its manufacturing and quality procedures. The facility manufactures
parachute canopies and retaining systems as well as non-parachute safety
vests and other cut & sew products for a variety of US and international
customers. “This certification attainment
means our quality processes are transparent, robust, and consistent, all
critical factors for expanding this business to customers who are
increasingly demanding the highest level of quality at the lowest
possible cost”, says Larry Williams. “We’ve
always striven to achieve this goal. Now there is an independent,
internationally-recognized agency which agrees that we are doing things
right,” he added. BRS Headquarter’s
facility in South St. Paul is undergoing preparation for ISO 9001:2000
certification in 2008 as well.
