Anthera Pharmaceuticals Announces Completion of Public Offering of Common Stock

HAYWARD, Calif., March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Anthera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANTH), today announced that it has completed the previously announced underwritten public offering of 5,555,556 shares of its common stock, offered at a price of $4.50 per share.  In addition, Anthera has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 833,333 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.  The gross proceeds to the Company from the sale of shares in this offering, before deducting customary underwriting discounts and commissions, were approximately $25,000,000 million.  Anthera intends to use the net proceeds from this offering for clinical research and development and general corporate purposes.

Piper Jaffray & Co. has acted as sole underwriter in the offering. The Trout Group, LLC has acted as advisor to the Company.
