Homeland Security Technology, Inc., (a Division of
Amnis, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AMNI)), announced today that it has entered
into a Security Services Teaming Agreement with Professional
Protection, Incorporated (PPI(TM)) of North Carolina to provide
security and logistical support for operations in Louisiana and the
Gulf Coast region in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. HST
signed the teaming agreement with PPI(TM) on Friday.
Under the terms of the agreement, PPI(TM) will act as the prime
contractor and will utilize HST as its sub-contractor on contracts
signed in relation to security support for personnel affected by the
two devastating hurricanes that have ravaged the region.
PPI(TM) is currently working contracts in the region and has
established a command and control center in Metairie, Louisiana to
provide security and material support for Allstate Insurance National
Catastrophic Team/South East Team dispatched to the region. HST will
provide personnel and logistical support for PPI's continued security
operations in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region.
"HST entered discussions with PPI(TM) immediately after Hurricane
Katrina had passed through the New Orleans area and dispatched our
Director of Security, Mark Wilson to make liaison with PPI(TM) in
Metairie, Louisiana," said Colonel Jeffrey Powers, CEO of Homeland
Security Technology, Inc.
"I observed a well coordinated, professionally run central command
operation at the PPI(TM) command center," said Wilson. "After
discussions with PPI(TM), it was only logical that our two companies
should team together to place a powerhouse security organization at
the disposal of the local authorities and show FEMA that the team is
capable of supporting their personnel with like logistical and
security assets."
"Teaming with HST, we are able to put up to 150 professionally
trained experienced law enforcement and security professionals on the
ground in any area affected by these storms on a moment's notice. We
are capable of self-supporting the deployments and can operate from
command posts set up in any area of operation," commented Carlton E.
Miles, Jr., CEO of Professional Protection Incorporated.
The PPI/HST team has already begun to function with HST providing
logistical support in the way of handheld Garmin RINO 120 radios for
PPI(TM) security personnel. PPI(TM) has established liaison with the
Louisiana State Police, The Louisiana State Board of Private Security
and Examiners, Jefferson Parish President, and the New Orleans Police
Department; and HST will be assisting PPI(TM) in negotiations for
future FEMA security contracts in the Louisiana and Gulf Coast region.
