Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) has expanded its tour staff with the addition of
Aaron Baddeley, a two-time PGA TOUR champion and 18th-ranked player in
the world. Baddeley is coming off his best season as a tour pro with one
victory, seven Top 10s and a sixth-place finish in the FedEx Cup
standings. As part of his contract, “Badds”
as he is commonly known, will wear the Adams Golf hat, carry the tour
staff bag and is expected to start the year playing the company’s
line of Insight fairway woods. He will be working with Adams Golf to
determine the best driver, hybrids, and irons to maximize his game.
“We’re proud to have
Aaron join our growing PGA TOUR team,” said
Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. “Aaron
is a wonderful player and a class individual who has the potential to be
the marquee player for Adams Golf on the PGA TOUR. We look forward to a
long-term relationship in which we will develop product to give one of
the great young stars in professional golf a competitive edge. Having
Aaron on our staff builds on the successes we’ve
had over the years on the Champions Tour as well as our recent success
in hybrid clubs on tour. We’re confident Aaron
will be an excellent brand ambassador for us.”
Since turning pro in 2000, Badds has won over $7.6 million in prize
money. Last season, he finished 10th on the Money List having won over
$3.4 million. He earned the second PGA TOUR victory of his career at the
FBR Open in February where he closed with back-to-back, 7-under-par 64s
to win by one stroke. His breakthrough win on tour came in 2006 at the
Verizon Heritage Classic when he rallied to win with a six-foot putt on
18. Most recently, Badds added to his International resume by claiming
his first Australian Masters championship in November. This was his
fourth international victory, which includes two Australian Open titles.
“After careful consideration, I have become
impressed with the Adams Golf people and brand. I also believe that
their highly-acclaimed R&D team is best-equipped to work directly with
me to provide the right equipment for my game,”
said Badds. “I’m
excited about this new partnership and I hope this will turn into a
long-term relationship for us both. I’m
entering a very exciting phase in my career and both hope and believe
the same can be said about Adams Golf.”
At 26-years-old, Badds becomes one of the exciting new and young faces
of a renowned tour staff of pros with the likes of Tom Watson, Bernhard
Langer, Tommy “Two Gloves”
Gainey, Brad Bryant and Brittany Lincicome. Aaron is a devout Christian
and often leads bible study groups on tour. A resident of Scottsdale,
Ariz., Aaron has been married to his wife, Richelle, for more than two
years.
