The American Stock Exchange Lists Strategic Return Notes Linked
to the Select Utility Index
NEW YORK, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange(R) (Amex(R))
today began trading Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Strategic Return Notes linked to
the Select Utility Index, due February 25, 2009. Trading under the ticker
symbol UUD, 7.6 million shares of the new five-year securities of Merrill Lynch
& Co., Inc. were issued at 100% of the principal amount ($10.00 each) and will
not bear any interest.
Each $10.00 principal amount of the securities will be deemed a "Unit" for the
purpose of trading and transfer. These securities are exchangeable at the
holders option for a cash payment during a specified period of each year from
2005 through 2008 as described in the prospectus supplement. There are no
payments prior to maturity unless exchanged.
At maturity, or upon exchange, holders will receive a cash amount based upon on
the percentage change in the value of the Select Utility Index.
Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. is the issuer of UUD. The Amex specialist unit for
the new listing is AGS/STR/OTA.
