New Joint Venture Stora Enso Digital Solutions

HELSINKI, Finland, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stora Enso and Xeikon
International have established a joint venture, Stora Enso Digital Solutions
N.V. The joint venture will undertake sales, service and development of Stora
Enso DBS Powered by Xeikon, a turnkey disc packaging solution for disc
producers such as the music, software, movie and games industries as an
alternative to plastic packaging. Stora Enso has a majority shareholding in
Stora Enso Digital Solutions, which is based in Lier, Belgium.
DBS (Discbox Slider) is Stora Enso's environmentally friendly and cost-
effective paperboard packaging for CDs and DVDs. Stora Enso DBS Powered by
Xeikon is an automated on-demand production line that covers the whole process
of printing, converting and filling DBS packs. It is very efficient for short
runs and personalized packages, and so ideal for increasingly fragmented
markets such as the music business.
Xeikon International is the world's leading supplier of digital colour printing
solutions for professional applications. It is a subsidiary of Punch
International, a company with a turnover of EUR 176 million in 2003 listed on
the Brussels Euronext stock exchange and part of the NextPrime index.
Ari Lehikoinen has been appointed Managing Director of Stora Enso Digital
Solutions. Currently based in Belgium, he was previously employed at Stora
Enso's InnoCentre packaging research and development unit in Finland.
