           Pre close period update for six months ended 30 June 2003


Maiden Group plc, the outdoor advertising group, has issued an update on the six
months ended 30 June 2003 prior to entering its close period ahead of its
interim results on 25 September.

As reported in the AGM statement on 29 May, revenue growth in the first half was
expected to be between 3-5%, reflecting the widely reported difficult
advertising conditions in the second quarter. The Group believes now that this
growth will be at the higher end of the range. However, yields have continued to
remain under pressure, reflecting challenging market conditions.

Also as previously indicated, forward visibility still remains limited. Monthly
performances range widely and predicting the outcome for the full year remains
difficult, other than to confirm that conditions are not expected to show a
marked improvement over last year.
