RNS Number:2694M Maiden Group PLC 12 June 2003 12 June 2003 MAIDEN OUTDOOR PLC Maiden wins #20 million street furniture contract for Manchester Maiden Outdoor plc, the outdoor advertising group announced today that it has won the contract for Manchester City Council's large-format outdoor sites. The contract, which Maiden will assume control of in the autumn, will run for 10 years, and is expected to generate advertising revenues of #20 million. Manchester currently has over 200 outdoor panels, most of which are 48-sheet formats. Maiden plans to redevelop and invest in these sites from the commencement of the new contract, with a total capital expenditure of potentially #1.0 million. As the second most important media market in the UK, Manchester is a significant contract win and will strengthen Maiden's position as a leader in outdoor advertising in the UK. Ron Zeghibe, Chief Executive of Maiden said: "This contract which was won against a strong and highly respected international incumbent, will strengthen our national network and number 1 position in large format sites across the UK. It will give advertisers access to the second largest advertising market in the UK."
