     IVAX Announces Results of 2003 Annual Shareholders' Meeting

IVAX Corporation (AMEX:IVX)(LSE:IVX.L) announced that at its 2003
Annual Meeting of Shareholders, held today in Miami, Florida,
shareholders re-elected the following Directors to the company's
Board:

--  Phillip Frost, M.D. - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IVAX
    Corporation

--  Neil Flanzraich - Vice Chairman and President of IVAX Corporation

--  Jane Hsiao, Ph.D. - Vice Chairman of Technical Affairs and Chief
    Technical Officer of IVAX Corporation

--  Mark Andrews - President of Great Spirits Company LLC

--  Ernst Biekert, Ph.D. - Professor of Chemistry at the University of
    Heidelberg

--  Jack Fishman, Ph.D. - Director of Research at Strang Cancer
    Research Laboratory

--  David A. Lieberman - Senior Vice President for Business and
    Finance of the University of Miami

--  Richard C. Pfenniger, Jr. - Chief Executive Officer and Vice
    Chairman of Whitman Education Group, Inc.

The following first time nominees were elected to the Board:

--  Betty G. Amos - President of the Abkey Companies (Fuddruckers
    Franchise)

--  Modesto A. Maidique, Ph.D. - President of Florida International
    University

--  Bertram Pitt, M.D. - Professor of Internal Medicine and Director
    of the Division of Cardiology at the University of Michigan School
    of Medicine
