Greer To Board Of Directors IVAX Corporation (AMEX:IVX) (LSE: IVX.L) announced the appointment of Ambassador Paul L. Cejas and Bruce W. Greer to its Board of Directors. Ambassador Cejas served as the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium from October 1998 to March 2001. A resident of Miami, Florida, Mr. Cejas has been a business and civic leader in the South Florida community for more than thirty years. Upon his return to the U.S., he resumed responsibilities as Chairman and CEO of PLC Investments, Inc., a wholly owned company that manages investments in real estate and venture capital projects. Mr. Cejas was founder, Chairman and CEO of Care Florida Health Systems, Inc., one of the country's largest Hispanic-owned healthcare companies prior to its sale in 1994. Mr. Cejas was recognized as one of the top CEOs in Florida by Florida Trend Magazine and other publications. Mr. Cejas served eight years on the Miami-Dade County School Board, five years as its Chairman; on the Board of Regents of Florida State University System and chairman of its Finance and Budget Committee; as a trustee of the United Way; as a director of the Center for National Policy, Washington, D.C.; and as chairman of the United Negro College Fund Campaign. He has recently been appointed to serve on the Smithsonian Institution National Board. Mr. Cejas was graduated from the University of Miami with a B.B.A. in Accounting; he has also received a Doctorate "Honoris Causa" for Public Service from Florida International University. Bruce W. Greer is a partner of the Miami-based Carlisle Group, a developer of affordable and multi-family housing, that has planned, developed and currently manages thousands of multi-family units throughout Florida. Mr. Greer is an attorney who has practiced commercial litigation since 1973 and has been chief counsel in many high profile cases in various Federal and State courts. He has been listed in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America since its inception in 1987. Since 1993, Mr. Greer has been appointed by a number of United States District Court judges to mediate many complex commercial cases in the Federal Courts. Mr. Greer is President of the Board of Trustees of Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Coral Gables, Florida. He was graduated with honors from the University of Florida and the Columbia University School of Law.
